Harghita County


Over 60% of the county area is composed of mountains and hills. Between different residential areas of the county, is a difference in altitude of 400 meters. Mountains are divided in two categories - those from the west are of volcanic origin, the rest - with some notable exceptions - the tectonic origin. Former volcanic activity is manifested in many activities postvulcanics. Wherever we go on the county meet the mineral water springs.Annual rainfall in the area, are approximately 600-800 l/m2. Eight rivers is divided between the county in all river basins, all arising here in the southern part of Olt, Great Homorod and Small Homorod, east Bistriţa, Trotuş, Bicazul and Breakfast Big Bicaz , Mures in the north, west and Târnava Small Târnava big.
